My Work
"Scruffy Doodle All Day" is the true story of my little rescue dog, Scruffy. I adopted him on July 14, 2012 when he was just about a year old. (In the photo gallery, you will see a picture of us on the day that I brought him home). He's a goofy little guy with a wacky personality all of this own. He drives me crazy, but I love him dearly.
I have also written a couple of other children's picture books, including "Maggie the Magnolia" and "Oscar the Oak". "Maggie" is the story of a little tree that I bought and and brought home, rescuing it from the plant store where she had been for a long time.
"Oscar the Oak" is a made up character, but was Maggie's best friend in the plant store. This is the story of Oscar's many adventures when the plant store closed down.
My Community
You will notice that "Scruffy Doodle All Day" is dedicated in part to my town, Brisbane, California.
This is because it is the best place I have ever lived and has some of the kindest people you will ever hope to meet. I hope you get a chance to visit sometime!
It is a sweet little community, nestled on the side of San Bruno Mountain. Tons of trails and beautiful views and a wonderful place for a day trip and see the sights.
The book is also dedicated to my dear friend, Tony Bezzina. On the day that I met Scruffy, I called him 3 times trying to decide what to do. Luckily, he talked me into making the big leap. Tony is as close to Scruffy as I am and spends many hours each week with him.
In the book, you will see a page with Scruffy and Tony's dog, "Lola" in a bicycle basket, that's just one of the fun things that they do together, although I'm not totally sure how the dogs feel about it!
