Tina is the best illustrator I have ever worked with! She is an amazing artist, as well as a kind and caring person.
Tina has now illustrated two books for me, "Oscar the Oak" and "Scruffy Doodle All Day". She puts her heart and soul into ever single project that she does and is an absolute pleasure to work with and to know.
These two youngsters gave me great insight into how children would perceive the book. They took their jobs as editors very seriously and helped me to make the book much better, more understandable and how to tell the story without making the children sad or scared.
Thank you so much!
Talk about talented! Sharon is producing and recording the song that goes with the book. It will be released very soon and wouldn't have been possible without her. And, she is responsible for most of the set up of this website. Somehow, she has managed to make all of this possible during this awful time of Covid. She is so patient and let me do sections of the songs over and over again, never complaining and always coming up with solutions. I'm very grateful!
Michael Crabtree is one of the finest song writers and performers that I have ever met. At some point last year, I mentioned the story I was writing and asked him if he would consider writing a song for it, since he is as big of a dog lover as me. Just a few weeks later, I attended a night of story readings and he sang the beautiful song he had written for Scruffy! Thank you, Michael!
Tony is a truly fine writer in his own right and has published a wonderful book of short stories, "Crossing the Lines", so when just about ready to publish my book, I asked him to read it and make sure that I hadn't made any glaring errors. He didn't skip a beat and did it immediately. I had made errors and he helped me to correct them before the book went to press. Thank you, Mr. Press!!
In the book you will find many of Scruffy's real life dog pals. There is Janie, the Beagle (much loved by Sue Cochran). Lola, the blind toy poodle (she takes care of Tony Bezzina who is Scruffy's best pal, next to me), sweet Lily (Rich Zink, Karen Latham & Shayla love her mightily), gigantic Calvin (who takes Paul Mangiamele for many a walk). There is also Harley, the lab (Morris Family) and Liberty, loved by the Giomi's. Last, but not least, darling Stella, my son's family dog. She's a sweetie! Sadly, a few of these dogs have now gone to doggie heaven, but will live on through this story.
